🎸Cooking for Radiohead🎸😎🤘
Over the thirty years of trying not to burn food for many celebrities! The highlight of my career without a doubt, was the night of cooking for my favourite band – Radiohead. A few years ago, I had the pleasure of creating a special night for one of the members of the band, over a couple of weeks, I came up with the menu and thankfully, it executed perfectly.
The evening started well with the steady flow of canapes and cocktails, then to my and the staff’s disbelief, over the next couple of hours the entire band strolled in! It was a special night for sure, one of which I have cherished dearly. I kind of kept in touch over the past few years with one of the members of the band, Jonny Greenwood, as he had an olive oil website named #shufradishufra
Jonny and his wife Sharona, bought an olive grove in Le Marche, Italy, in which they harvest and sell a limited amount of olive oil every year. I liked and commented in a few posts on the site and long story short – I am now making Dukkah for them as I opened up my own spice business named #broesseasonings
It is still a bit surreal that I, as a manufacturer, am making a product for them. Dukkah is a spice condiment hailing from Sharona’s Egyptian grandmother, a condiment with some decent bold flavours of walnut, sesame, coriander and cumin seeds all roasted, then paired with a citrusy note of sumac and sea salt.
* I was feeling a bit “let down” in this year of 2025 with hardly any positive fruition of my new business coming along, it seemed that there were “no surprises” hidden on the horizon. But as of this mental past three months, I’ve found that the “jigsaw is falling into place” and I now feel like a “Kid A” in a sweet shop, creating new seasonings and spices. And finally, I “reckoner” I have “all I need”.
* ”inverted commas” = all Radiohead songs, sorry! Lol.
