Steak Tacos with Salsa Ranchera
Salsa Ranchera
Ingredients
4 tomatoes, 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon of jalapeno salt, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of oregano, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, 1 tablespoon of fresh coriander.
Method
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened. Add the tomatoes, cumin, paprika, oregano, black pepper, sugar, and tomato paste. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the lime juice and fresh coriander. Serve with steak tacos.
Steak Tacos

500g of steak, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of cumin, 1 tablespoon of paprika, 1 tablespoon of oregano, 1 tablespoon of black pepper, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 tablespoon of chilli powder, 1 tablespoon of Broes smoked jalapeno salt, 8 small tortillas, 1 avocado, 1 lime, 1 red onion, 1 bunch of fresh coriander.
Method
Preheat the grill to high heat. In a small bowl, mix together the cumin, paprika, oregano, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chilli powder, and salt. Rub the steak with the olive oil and then coat with the spice mix. Grill the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice the steak into thin strips. Warm the tortillas on the grill for 30 seconds on each side. To serve, place the steak strips on the tortillas and top with sliced avocado, red onion, fresh coriander, and a squeeze of lime juice. Serve with the Salsa Ranchera.
